Linksys OGV200 - Network Optimizer for VoIP & Gaming

Note:  Now this sounds like a useful device, with more people having multiple people on one broadband connection and running more services like VoIP and PC / Console gaming machines (PS3, XBox 360 & Wii).  I need to get my hands on one to test it myself.  Price point isn't too bad either for the average some-what broke gamer.

"We use Vonage for the main Geek.com line and recently we were experiencing choppy audio during some conference calls. In some cases we couldn’t be heard while other times we couldn’t hear the caller. Figuring the drop out was due to my not prioritizing the VoIP traffic on the router, I was about to do some customizing when I decided to give the OGV200 Network Optimizer a go."

QoS - Voice Quality Management for VoIP Networks

Network managers generally focus on quality of service (QoS) as the only means of monitoring and managing the quality of IP services. But while managing packets for loss, jitter, or delay is important for VoIP networks, today's successful VoIP providers must go farther; they must ensure a high-quality customer experience by monitoring and managing voice quality levels.

We can run on the N800

Well, one day after announcing the ability to converse with an N800 over mod_dingaling we can now actually *run* freeswitch on the N800.

Linksys SPA 921 IP Phone Review

Note:  I found this browsing VoIP-Info.  Personally we use a couple of the Linksys SPA-921 in the office.  For a value phone I think they are a pretty good deal.  But for a heavy phone user I would recommend something a higher quality like a Polycom 501/601 or Cisco 7960+.

" First Sipura introduced the SPA-841 which was a decent IP phone but nothing to get excited about, it looked bad and did not have a high quality feel to it when you hit the buttons, felt the handset, etc.  The phone was quite popular though with the Asterisk crowd, in large part due to its low price and I would assume the general popularity of Sipura SPA3000s within the Asterisk community."

Note: I might have to look into getting more information on this device.  Very useful in certain situations when CLECs don't support full e911 support.
